Welcome to the CAL/EMRA Website

Our sole mission is to advocate for emergency medicine residents in California.

WHAT DOES CAL/EMRA DO?

The California Chapter of the American College of Emergency Physicians is an organization composed of over 2000 emergency physicians in California. Emergency medicine residents are the future of our organization, and their participation is actively encouraged. The president of the California Chapter of the Emergency Medicine Residents Association has a permanent voting seat on the CAL/ACEP board of directors, with all of the responsibilities and privileges that come with that position. As well, residents are actively encouraged to participate in CAL/ACEP activities at the highest level. Funding is budgeted each year for residents from each program in California to attend each and every board meeting, as well as special events such as the Scientific Assembly, the annual Legislative Leadership Conference, and the yearly strategic planning retreat. Multiple current and past CAL/ACEP board members and chapter officers began their involvement in CAL/ACEP as presidents of the CAL/EMRA.
